Everybody and everything annoys Mr Palmer :-)   Written by Reeba (9/25/2009 6:40 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, *Are* they complementing each other..., penned by Barbara
Are you new?

Mr John - for not having a billiard table.

The weather - I know most people do, but his seemed to be more personal.
Magna Coombe - so vile
Barton Cottage - so crooked
If he'd stayed longer we would have known more.

These things have nothing to do with Charlotte.
I'm of the opinion *he* is an embarassment to Charlotte ;-)

With Lady Middleton this attitude would not change (as it seems inherent in him) and I think she would find this more difficult to deal with than Sir John's careless jollity.
Plus she would hardly be involved with his political career as she'd be too busy with her children.

Silliness seems to be the only 'complimentary' solution here.

Charlotte would not have been able to manage to keep the house in order like Lady M because together she and Sir John would be too chaotic.
The difference Lady Middleton makes to Sir John's parties is by not inviting the Gilberts and perhaps a host of others, leaving Sir John with a measly number (and a reasonable number) of 8, thus keeping things under some control at least.
