not only to come to Barton, but include Charlotte in the trip, and so unceremoniously too, especially when one considers she's pregnant, makes one think that there is definitely something of importance here. The reason he married Charlotte.

Poor Charlotte, to be rushed into a carriage which was already at the door. And so sweetly she keeps telling her mother she'll be alright.

I'm wondering if Sir John refused whatever it was he came for, because he seemed quite angry with Sir John, calling him names.
