Neither ignorance nor lack of wit at all; We're all guessing...   Written by Jeffrey (9/22/2009 2:30 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Revealing my ignorance (or lack of wit), penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

This is my first group read and my second pass through S&S and what a mind-expander it has been. It's not a math contest where there are right or wrong answers but fun playing the guessing game. I may be totally wrong on my point of Edward having a little fun with Marianne but I think she thought Edward would simply blurt out that they were "engaged" or "lovers" but instead his underwhelming response did not even link Marianne or Willoughby at all but simply stated an opinion about Willoughby after which I believe Marianne, who was probably holding her breath, exhaled! What do you think? Methinks I'm learning a great deal and am thoroughly enjoying the group-read commentary.
