Both Sides of the Picture...   Written by Moni (9/22/2009 8:31 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Self-Portrait?, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

This post got me thinking, Robbin, whether I thought Marianne was childish or not.

What I came out with was that she is actually quite young! Her first love is intense and romantic, like most girls of her age, and she is learning as she goes along.

I don't know why the issue of the grief isn't discussed within the family a great deal, if Marianne was still upset by it. Perhaps this is why her reaction to Willoughby going away was so intense?

So I guess she is childish in a sense, because of her age, and is growing up. In many ways her views may be comparable to parts of Mary in MP, really kind of out there, too adult, and modern. Maybe she is just really an extrovert? Does anyone find her extroverted rather than childish?
