Marianne a bit of a "drama" queen??   Written by Jeffrey (9/21/2009 9:12 a.m.)
Are you new?

Looking back on the end of Ch 15 and the beginning of Ch 16 Miss Austen really begins to reveal the very diverging personalities of the two older Dashwood sisters. I think the long drawn-out over-the-top emotional behavior of Marianne mourning the sudden departure of Willoughby would label her in contemporary language as a "drama" queen. Indeed, after a day or two, I'd probably be encouraging Marianne to "give it a rest" or "get over it." I mean her misery just goes on and on. Of course my observations and opinions come from the fatherly side and probably a great deal of the women here would label me as stone cold. Were you a parent of Marianne, how long would you put up with it before you said "enough?"
