Are you new?

When I first read this, I thought "Wow, he really likes his horses!" Of course, I'm sure he's going to make sure that strangers are taking proper care of his valuable animals, but later, thinking about his correspondence with Lucy, it occurred to me that he might be going to post a letter. That would help to inform her of his whereabouts.
