An interesting theory, but I had a different reaction   Written by Cathy Allen (9/20/2009 2:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Columella, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

When Edward said the wanted his sons to "to be as unlike myself as is possible," I just felt VERY sad. Even at his young age, Edward feels like a failure. Of course he doesn't want his sons/children to turn out like him! That was my reaction to his speech.

I MUCH prefer your reaction, Barbara, and it makes sense, so I think I'll just replace my own...:-)

Very interesting information about Columella, too, thanks!
