I hope none of the servants would perpetrate a theft in the night! Someone who regularly arranges Elinor’s hair might have an occasion (split ends, maintain a fringe or create a new look?) to cut off a little. If it had turned out to be Elinor’s hair it would have happened at Norland. Dear Elinor, I feel sorry for her when she discovers it is not her hair because she seems as confident of Edward’s affection as Marianne does of Willoughby’s. (;D)
