|Paper filigree basket

The craft Lucy was doing is like what is called quilling--rolling strips of paper and then making shapes out of them.

When I've seen this craft in real life, most people have made pictures from the rolled paper shapes, and they are framed under glass because they are delicate. It sounds like this took a number of hours of rather labour-intensive work to make this. What an unbelievable waste of time to do this for a three-year-old. The basket would not last for 5 minutes.
