getting a little tired of Edward   Written by Heather Leigh (9/19/2009 3:28 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I like Edward!, penned by Barb JA
Are you new?

and his depression and pessimism.. Not because he's unhappy but because he's so busy resigning himself to being that way. This line makes me want to tell him to just get over it!

"I never wish to offend, but I am so foolishly shy, that I often seem negligent, when I am only kept back by my natural awkwardness. I have frequently thought that I must have been intended by nature to be fond of low company, I am so little at my ease among strangers of gentility!"

"Natural awkwardness" and "intended by nature to be fond of low company" are strange statements. I know people can be awkward and shy "by nature" (born that way), but they can overcome it to a degree. I don't really think of peoples' taste in friends being dictated by their "nature".

I think we need a psychologist (and some more information) to explain Edward.
