What Elinor Did   Written by maud l (9/17/2009 2:58 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I don't disagree, but it makes me sad(der) for Elinor, penned by kathleen (elder)
Are you new?

In a large estate, there would have been many things for a busy person. The story does tell us that the women had been industrious at Norland and became so at Barton. I'm sure there were social events, visiting, etc. at Norland before the family had to go into mourning. I assumed from this section that Elinor had had a busy, full life with social engagements before they moved to Barton and the difference affected her more in a real way than it did to Marianne.
