I wonder if Elinor has been "alone" this way   Written by kathleen (elder) (9/16/2009 9:22 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Indeed., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

for a very long time? If she had no close friends in Sussex, then who did she talk to, have long meaningful conversations with, prior to meeting Edward? Even if she was able to talk to her father, he might not have been available all the time. I know that Elinor loves her mother & sisters, but their excessive romantic tendencies might make it difficult for serious, reflective conversations.

Elinor may have been much more alone in this manner than Emma, since Emma had Miss Taylor.
