Are you new?

She is lonely in Devonshire, with nobody for good conversation. And if Edward was the only person she had for good conversation at Norland after her father died, then who did she have before her father died. She was 19 already when her father died, so if she had no good friends around Norland, then she must have had a (somewhat) lonely time of it.

I am pleased that she has Colonel Brandon for conversational purposes, but I wish she had a good friend at Barton.
