Marianne and Willoughby did seem to delight in disparaging Brandon in Ch. 10 and Ch. 13. They were happy together (till he left) but had little attention for anyone else. They remind me of Fanny and John Dashwood. They are very much alike, bring out the worst in each other and I believe they are also very happy. Of course not everyone around them is likewise as happy. Like John with Fanny, Marianne might be happy with Willoughby but continue to become a less amiable person under his influence. (:D)
