Chapter 11: Whose conversation is Elinor missing?   Written by kathleen (elder) (9/15/2009 8:45 p.m.)
Are you new?

After reading about Marianne's Season of Happiness in Chapter 11, the very next paragraph is about Elinor:

Elinor's happiness was not so great. Her heart was not so much at ease, nor her satisfaction in their amusements so pure. They afforded her no companion that could make amends for what she had left behind, nor that could teach her to think of Norland with less regret than ever. Neither Lady Middleton nor Mrs. Jennings could supply to her the conversation she missed ... . [emphasis mine]

Is Elinor missing Edward (& only Edward), whom she knew for just a few months at Norland? Or does this refer to other (unknown) friends? Or maybe her father (or even her late great uncle)? Or is it just Edward? hmmm
