Are you new?

I think it's evident that this is saying that Marianne is more striking. I also think that Jane Austen was saying that it was more striking to be taller. Earlier, back in Ch. 6, Lady Middleton was also described as " her figure tall and striking". To me, that seems to equate being tall with being striking, in terms of figure.
