To answer Karen G's question in a more straightforward manner than in my previous post, I agree with Kathleen (elder) about Allenham. Of all the criticisms which can be levelled at Willoughby it is this episode which I can't make excuses for. Not only is it disrespectful to Mrs Smith, but it seems furtive and underhand - not good qualities for a Hero.

I still can't see this as completely irredeemable though. I think things could play out in various different ways, depending on how the plot develops.
