Willoughby parroting Marianne.   Written by Reeba (9/14/2009 9:58 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Other way around, rather, penned by Mary Anne
Are you new?

At least in one instance later it happens again.

"That is to say," cried Marianne contemptuously, "he has told you that in the East Indies the climate is hot, and the mosquitoes are troublesome."

After accusing Col Brandon of unintelligent remarks, Willoughby follows Marriane's example with more examples of Col Brandon's superficiality;

"Perhaps," said Willoughby, "his observations may have extended to the existence of nabobs, gold mohrs, and palanquins."

Perhaps he is envious of his profession as well.
