Well done, nan; very clear   Written by Cathy Allen (9/12/2009 11:19 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Willoughby in action. (long), penned by nan duval
Are you new?

As a first-time reader (but having seen all the movie adaptations available) I was affronted by W's disparaging of Col. B, and Mrs J. and Lady M. It's my feeling that he doesn't know them well enough to be so nasty about them.

It's not as if he's only 17, as Marianne is (although a 17-year-old in JA's era was expected to be considerably more mature than a 17-year-old is expected to be now), he's a man of 25, and should act/speak with a a little more sense. But then, he seems to have no sense, as you have very ably described, thank you very much.
