Contrast Marianne and Catherine Morland   Written by Karen G (9/11/2009 3:26 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, R&S?, penned by Anselm
Are you new?

I personally don't think I see much of a difference between romantic and sensibility. Your post reminded me, though of JA making fun of the romantic notions of Catherine Morland in Northanger Abbey.

How interesting that Marianne and Catherine Morland are close in age, are both romantic, but probably are at different intellectual (and educational) levels and have been cultivated in such a different way, that they are very different. "Romanticism" doesn't sound as good as "sensibility" IMO. :)
