I just don't see it. Yes, Elinor would have been perfectly aware of the irony of engrossed on affectionate principle vs. their actual creating the sorrow again and again. No, she didn't approve their behavior.

But it would not be like her to give reproof or poke fun at their grief in that way. It would be against her affectionate principle. :-)

I think Elinor is rather a saint!
