It's too full of juicy possibilities to let it pass of as a tame remark. ;-)


I'm pretty sure that Elinor doesn't support their way of grieving their loss.

In fact IIRC there is some such comment in this week's chapters about Elinor being the only one who put herself forward to deal with the arrivals at Norland while mother and Marianne indulged in their excessive ways of grieving.
