And no, they wouldn't have eaten in the kitchen because that was just where the servants prepared the food (in a relatively low-income household such as this, the girls would have lent a hand, according to my reading).

Would they have eaten their meals off trays on their laps while watching CNN news on their HD plasma screen TV, kindly provided by Sir John?
