the same sentiments in my post below taking his flannel waistcoat as an example. :-)

Good point also about his direct manner of appreciating Marianne's piano playing regardless of Mrs Jennings.

This makes me feel that he isn't too quiet or aloof.
I think like Mr Knightley he's forthright in his manners of speech.
