Mrs. Jennings and Sir John Middleton   Written by Leah Noel (9/8/2009 9:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mrs. Jennings and Lady Middleton, penned by CarolTS
Are you new?

Something that CarolTS said sparked a thought:

It is completely possible that Mrs. Jennings got along so well with Sir John Middleton that she furthered the match with her daughter as much as she could. Mrs. Jennings prides herself on having married off her daughters, she could have taken a very active role in their courtships. The two of seem to be very easy together and closer than many of the familial relations thus far (the Dashwood ladies excluded of course).

I like thinking of reserved Lady Middleton going along with her mother's choice of this boisterous man based upon his other qualities. Of course she is already used to being around people of that ilk so it may not have seemed like such a stretch.
