I was wondering about the logistics of the family and servants living in the cottage.
In ch. 6 it described the long hall to the back with the sitting rooms on either side and beyond the "offices" and the stairs. Four bedrooms and two garrets (storage attics or finished rooms) finished the house.
Who slept where? Did the girls share a bedroom? Were the "offices" the kitchen? Servants bedrooms? I can't imagine the servants sleeping in one of the bedrooms next to the family.
I am hoping someone who knows more of the times could help me visualize their situation. Thank you
