Marianne reminds me of a Silent-Movie tragic heroine   Written by Cathy Allen (9/8/2009 1:33 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Farewell to Norland., penned by Rachel G
Are you new?

Can't you just see her holding a handkerchief, and raising the back of her hand to her forehead? "Woe is me, woe is me!" would be what the silent-movie heroine would mouth with her lips, unable to actually SAY anything to be recorded by the camera.

It does all seem to be drama-queen fake to me, and extremely immature. And I can say this, I blush to disclose, because I remember having done similar things when I was her age! I just want to tell her, "Grow up, Marianne, and think of someone else besides yourself!"

Thanks for citing the poem, Barbara; it's perfect!
