Probably he was, however there might have been other brothers of the elderly uncle who were younger than Henry Dashwood's father, but who still had sons. All we know for certain is that the elderly uncle had a sister and Henry Dashwood's father as siblings.

Also, knowing John and Fanny, and considering that Henry is clearly a family name, it is highly likely that they named their son after the owner of the property (John's great uncle) in the hope of advancing in his good opinion.
