What I meant to say was...


Knowing the title, Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen must have known very well what she was doing when she used the two words sensible and sense to describe Marianne.

I was trying not to repeat myself from my previous post and not repeat the novel quotes when Kathleen(elder) has them at the top of the thread. I seem to have made a mess of it and I apologize for the confusion.

I certainly did not mean to imply that Marianne is the sole main character.

I must say I'm glad that Marianne didn't tell Edward what she thought of his reading. Shows good sense if you ask me. What was wrong I think is her judging him so harshly based on his reading.
