It must be considerable... Written by Reeba (9/6/2009 9:51 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Do we know John Dashwood's total annual income?, penned by kathleen (elder)

according to what is mentioned in CH 1;

"To him therefore the succession to the Norland estate was not so really important"

If succession to Ł4000 per annum is not really important then I can only imagine what his income already must have been.
It would have to be much much more.
