Are you new?

I smile when I read;

"on the arrival of the latter,[Mrs J Dashwood] she would have quitted the house for ever, had not the entreaty of her eldest girl induced her first to reflect on the propriety of going, and her own tender love for all her three children determined her afterwards to stay, and for their sakes avoid a breach with their brother.

I picture their mother ready to leave on the arrival of Mrs John Dashwood, and Elinor talking her out of it. :-)
Among reasons would be the most important one, that there was no where to go!
I wonder where they would have gone to if Elinor had not prevailed?
