Then Henry inherited practically nothing   Written by Glenn (9/5/2009 12:38 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, But *he* didn't have £4000 a year, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

I'm starting to get the picture. Uncle "Scrooge" Dashwood let Henry be a guest at his house for 18 years. He probably gave Henry some "pocket money" now and then. Henry only inherited Norland for one year and probably saved part of the £4,000 for his wife and daughters. It's a wonder that Mrs. Dashwood and her daughters didn't curse Uncle "Scrooge" along with John Dashwood. After all, it was the uncle that set up their future poverty. What a precarious life with all the appearance of wealth.
