Charming and romantic.   Written by Mandy N (10/27/2006 12:10 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Charming Col Brandon : my focus - one of 8}, penned by Reeba
Are you new?

What I like about Colonel Brandon is his sensitivity and reliability.
Col. Brandon is prepared to underttake much trouble for friends he loves. For example, he travels eighty miles and back from Cleveland to Barton Cottage to fetch Mrs Dashwood when Marieanne is so ill.

In contrast, except for carrying Marieanne a brief distance downhill to Barton Cottage (ch.9)- I can't think of any kindly act by Willoughby for anyone in this story.

It is clear which man is nearer to a charming and romantic hero Marieanne admires.
