Many thanks to all.   Written by Mandy N (10/26/2006 2:09 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Focus: Romanticism; Picturesque cottages., penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

As we all seem excessively fond of a cottage, I've been looking out for the picture of Marie Antoinette's hamlet of cottages she built as an idyll at Versaille, yet to no avail.

Thanks for your pictures Jane and Reeba. I have seen Queen Charlotte's cottage at Kew Gardens, to be honest, I think I took it as the chief gardner's cottage. ;)
Reeba, your pic. of the Swiss cottage in Ireland looks like a lodge.
I think 'cottage' may be an elastic (?) term.

And, when Robert threw poor Courtland's plans on the fire I've a fancy their friendship went up in smoke.
;)
