Are you new?

Was this proper at the time? I don't remember seeing this word used in JA's other novels.

I think it shows up first in Nancy's dialogue and later in the novel Mrs Jennings and Fanny Dashwood use it.

Do that just show the influence of the Miss Steeles on them?
