When Colonel Brandon hurries away to fetch Mrs. Dashwood from Barton Cottage;

"...and a few words spoken too low to reach her ear, hurried into the carriage."

I wonder what he said.
Could it be 'Don't worry', or 'Look after Marianne for me' or 'I'll be back soon'.
I have been reflecting about this so long, but haven't come up with anything of austeneque elegance :-/
