I agree that the word 'engagements' is very deliberately chosen by Lucy to refer to appointments or dates (little), as a dig at Marianne about Willoughby breaking off their (supposed) engagement, and also at Elinor, to remind her yet again (as if she needed more reminding) that Edward is (ENGAGED) (great)!

She may also be trying to provoke a reaction there to see whether Elinor has said anything to Marianne about Lucy and Edward's engagement.
