another idea   Written by Lisa Dalrymple (10/19/2006 11:25 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Oh, yes!, penned by Heidi M.
Are you new?

(I've hardly had time to post during this group read, but my mind started wandering while standing at the microwave waiting for my lunch...)

Fanny and John packed up a few things to take with them to London, and Fanny's seal was inadvertantly left at Norland. A servant had to be sent from London to Norland to retrieve the seal, which of course was quite a considerable expense in their present state of poverty. To prevent this inconvenience to their pocketbooks from ever happening again, Fanny (and her mother) determined the best thing to do would be to have one seal to keep at Norland and another to keep at their house in London.

:-)
