[At this point, they dislike Lady Middleton; not because she's not good enough for them, but because she has nothing to recommend herself with.

....disliking Lady M on grounds that she harms them in some way or treats them badly, would be reason enough IMO but since this is not the case I think disliking her on mere ground that she is insipid, is in a way rather snobbish IMHO :)
