Ooh, that's a good one -- Gray's vs. Miss Grey   Written by Delories (10/18/2006 4:15 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Gray's, penned by Barbara

I had never noticed that one before, but now that Barbara has pointed it out, it's hard to believe that JA _didn't_ do it deliberately, right down to the slightly different spelling (or was Miss Grey's family also originally "Gray", and changed it to make it sound tonier, as in Smythe for Smith?).

Good point about how John is crying poverty whilst Elinor is acting out her own very real (relative) poverty with the business about exchanging her mother's jewels.
