Poor Elinor - she has been controlling and hiding her feelings for so long, and now she has this wonderful moment where she can give vent to her feelings.

JA must have been in fits of giggles writing the scene with Mr John Dashwood - it is hilarious - but it would be such a strain to sit through.

They all looked their assent; it seemed too awful a moment for speech.
