I wonder   Written by teri-mc (10/17/2006 2:31 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Something so strange!, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

if it came to Mrs. Jennings' head because that is the way she gets her gossip?

In Ch. 8 it is said that she was remarkably quick to discover attachements between young people.

When Col. Brandon leaves suddenly in ch. 14, Mrs. Jennings makes a lot of conjecture, and this I think allows for her to gain information when people either affirm or deny the conjectures.

How else is she to learn anything if she doesn't ask?

Any news doctor? ;-)
