Contraction of the brow   Written by Line (10/15/2006 10:42 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Ugly Ferrars, inside and out…, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

I took "contraction of the brow" to mean that Mrs. Ferrars has a straight up-and-down furrow between her eyebrows from much frowning ("brow" meaning forehead), not that her eyebrows join together.

LOL about the "person and face of strong, natural, sterling insignificance"!
