Likelihood of Marianne becoming a 'fallen woman'   Written by Pennie (10/12/2006 11:39 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, The decline of a 'fallen woman', penned by Barbara
Are you new?

I have always wondered if the fates of Eliza I & II were something that could happen to Marianne. We know that Willoughby is quite happy to seduce women. We know that Marianne loved Willoughby, and abhored the idea of hiding her feelings towards him. I don't doubt that Willoughby tried to seduce Marianne, as they were together alone often enough, in particular walking through Allenham. I believe that Marianne would have been tempted, but I'm unsure if she would have actually gone through with it. What does everyone else think?
