Willoughby disgraced   Written by Mary Anne (10/12/2006 8:20 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, What they were ostensibly trying to achieve, penned by Tom P2
Are you new?

"So I think it's likely that Willoughby came away disgraced - but only within the small group who knew about a meeting that never got abroad!"

Not only likely--to me, certain, for if events had gone in any way favourable to Willoughby, he wouldn't have hesitated to brag about it, laws or no laws. From what we've seen about his eagerness to disparage Brandon at any opportunity, he would be unable to resist boasting about the duel if Brandon came off worst. As it is, Willoughby's silence on the subject is . . . eloquent.
