Questions…   Written by Robbin (10/12/2006 5:23 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Well, I always found the..., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

I am not sure what part you are referring to as highly caricatured because I see the situation with Lady Middleton’s misbehaving children as very true to life; I do not find anything they do or that the adults do that cannot be described as typical child rearing problems. Are you saying a cultural difference exists here in the opinion of what constitutes misbehaving children or what parents should do about it or that in some cultures they let children run wild and let them get away with anything—even trying to pull apart their guests without ever trying to correct them? I cannot address cultural issues because I know no other well enough to comment, my opinions are based solely on the text of S&S and personal observation but I do think there are differences in what people will tolerate as misbehavior in children—so I do see that there can be discrepancies on that issue. Obviously Elinor and LM have different tolerance levels. (;D)
