Colonel Brandon wouldn't be Colonel Brandon...   Written by Reeba (10/10/2006 3:34 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, A tale of two Elizas, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

without the first Eliza.

The first Eliza is central to Colonel Brandon's character and philosophy.

-Silent and grave he wouldn't be.

-Maybe he would have been a cheerful, playful man, which would make Marianne critical anyway about an old man being so.

-Or he would probably have married by now, with a brood of children to irritate Elinor ;)

-Above all there would be no second Eliza.
