Miss Grey and Willoughby...   Written by Mandy N (10/10/2006 8:44 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I think it's VERY realistic! Miss Grey is a spoiled rich girl..., penned by Delories
Are you new?

My impression is Miss Grey's name suits her well as we know so little about her, including her family.
She is she may wish to marry as she does not get along well with her guardian, Mrs Ellison.

From earlier chapeters' we know Willoughby's family name 'was good'.
As mistress of Willoughby's estate of Combe Magna in Somerset, the new Mrs Willoughby will have an assured position in the landed gentry even if they resided in town.

Even if Miss Grey knows he's currently short of money, she'd be aware he is heir to Mrs Smith of Allenham House.
It seems Willoughby's quite a catch of the season for a young heiress.

Yet, re: your last part: Miss Grey probably knows Willoughby has debts. Yet are we sure at the announcement of their engagement (ch.30) Miss grey is aware of Willoughby's reputation, that her arm- candy is a cad ?
