Oh! Thanks for pointing this out, Barbara! I've never made this conection before. Of course I've always known that Edward's youth and inexperience (and Lucy's cleverness) were "to blame" for his foolish engagement, but I'd never connected it to Elinor's comment about "the strange unsuitableness which often existed between husband and wife."
