I've seen lots of pictures of hair jewellery but I've never seen such a good image of a Georgian hair ring. Thank you!

I don't think a plait of hair could be made from the remains in hair brushes - it would have to be a lock of hair but of course this could be obtained easily by a maid/hairdresser.

I agree that Elinor isn't being fanciful in being persuaded that it is her hair as she knows he is not married or engaged and his sister's hair is a different shade. What other explanation could there possibly be?
